My hobby...
What can I say about my hobby. I came to this country like any other Asian (Indian) completely immersed in Cricket euphoria.
But to tell you the truth I never really liked cricket too much. I was in it simply because there weren't that many options back home. It has become too cheap ..... When it's cricket season it's like almost everyone you know is a cricket expert. He should have played like this...he should be hitting like that.........and after a while you realize that conversation just really does not go anywhere. Neither you are solving an issue nor your expertise have any value. Because neither you're nor who you are listening to is an expert in cricket to being with...........and best of all most of these cricket experts (who become expert after the match is done) will never bet on the game.
Well, if they are that smart to comment AFTER the game why not bet on the game in the beginning to show off your confidence. No that won't happen because like I said the guy who is talking all that much.. knows very well he is leading an idiotic conversation.....and.......this gets even better. If you ask him how much cricket does he play....get ready for an answer...did you here that.......silence......yes! most of those experts have never even played cricket.............(other than what they did back in the day with neighborhood kids or fashionably so in school.)
....I mean if they simply watched the game with passion because it's a national game and took pride in team I am with it. I like that too.....I am in it still......and only if it remains that way.......but that verbal diarrhea of so called 'self proclaimed cricket experts' I just can't stand it.
Anyway......so not liking cricket is not my hobby :). But sure enough this prompted me to look for a hobby. I wanted something exclusive, something exciting, something not very common and something that is certainly not easy for anyone to just get into...because he/she decided to give it a shot.
Finally after a long pause I was able to find my interest in model air plane flying....so what it is exactly. It is exactly what it says it is..........you make model air planes and then you fly them. Yes ! you make them...now making planes require lot of materials and parts and some engineering knowledge...so you guessed it. One just can't jump into this hobby because one deiced to give it a shot.
Then, even if one did manage to get a friend's plane to fly...or managed to buy one which is ready to go.. (with money you can get anything you want these days) you still can't fly it.........simply because you don't know how ! humm.....so the only way you can fly is by joining a club...getting a permit........getting an instructor......blowing off some 100s of $$ and then depending on your learning ability you might be able to fly solo in few months.......yes that is right.......it takes a few months to learn to fly...........so you see........how different it is..........from cricket.........just picking a bat or a ball will not make you that expert in this game...........
Enough said.....now it's time to check what I do in my hobby........you can see that on next few pages where I have posted a few pictures of planes and people from my club who I fly with............now that's exclusive !!
Sorry if you are a cricket fan........but I had to get my frustration out.........and shut you up........!!..next time you see me you know I am not interested in your expert commentary on cricket....because I know you're not an expert....so just SHUT UP !!!!...However, if India won and you want to celebrate.....I am a gentleman to celebrate with........we can hit a pub and feel proud over a few beers.......
